How do I dispose of a Florida license plate?

You may dispose of a Florida license plate in one of the following ways.

Mail the license plate to Division of Motorist Services, Neil Kirkman Building, Mail Stop 72, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0500 and include a cover sheet requesting the license plate be cancelled and recycled.
Return the license plate to any local Florida county tax office and request the license plate be cancelled and recycled.
